Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays James Reese, an ambassador's assistant who wants to become a spy. He's given that chance when he is asked to work with Charlie Wax (John Travolta), an unconventional yet highly effective agent. What starts off looking like an attempt to infiltrate and take down a drug trafficking ring, we quickly find that it's actually a mission to take down a terrorist cell.
Overall, this is a pretty fun movie. It's not likely to win any awards, and the trailer probably gave away more than it should have, but there's a lot of action and a moderate amount of comedy. It is extremely predictable, and I wasn't surprised by anything that happened over the course of the movie, but they didn't really screw anything up, and what was there was done pretty well.
