Arthur is a rather responsible, stand-up guy who is in school studying to become an architect and has a dream of creating buildings out of styrofoam rather than more traditional materials. He lives in a house that he owns, along with two friends, Jason and Wally, who are goof-offs and slobs. Art is starting to get fed up with them and is trying to find a way to kick them out when Wally takes a trip to the bathroom and leaves behind something that looks surprisingly like the Virgin Mary. Ignoring Art's objections, Jason and Wally act quickly to preserve it and pretty soon people are coming from all over to see it. Before long, they find themselves in the middle of a holy war between the Catholic church and a scatological cult, with each trying to gain control of "the holy deuce".
As is pretty clear from the subject matter, this is a rather irreverent movie, although it tries to be as tasteful as possible under the circumstances. It does rely heavily on bathroom humor, but there is enough other content thrown in to add some depth to the story (e.g., whether intentional or not, there seem to be a lot of similarities with Shaun of the Dead). Nevertheless, there were some points in the movie that I felt progressed a little slowly, as if they were trying to pad it out to a feature-length film.
